Desert but clearly with island wide implications. Topics include existing growth patterns, cost of sprawl, development and conservation suitability and affordable housing. All are welcome to attend.
May 23, 2003 - deadline for Youth Action minigrant proposals - Healthy Acadia is pleased to offer mini-grants of up to $1000 for local groups working ot engage young people in building healthy communities. Funds are available for projects that promote tobacco prevention, recreational opportunities, or nutrition and healthy food. Funds will be awarded to projects involving youth from at least one of the following areas: Mt. Desert Island, Trenton, Lamoine, Swans Island, Cranberry Islands and Frenchboro.
